Making a rough circle around the Plaza De Armas checking out the area. At the time it was about lunch time and a lot of the office workers were out and about taking their lunch break.

Selling something, I think it's a food peeler-slicer. Sold with passion.

This is not for the faint-hearted or novices. You really need to know your stuff. These ladies clearly do. You see, there are these guys, probably some natives from outside of Santiago, who come in with these bags of goods. And that includes wrist watches for the ignorant, but also leather goods. Purses, handbags, belts, and the like. They are selling w/o license and w/o overhead and are selling things cheap. However, probably store owners call them in once they set up shop on the sidewalk, and shortly after they do, cops show up, walking slowly in their diredton and they grab the four corners of their displays and haul ass out of there. You do your business fast or not at all. Clearly, these women watch for them, wait for them to spread their goods on the sidewalk, and immediately know what they want and have the cash ready. You also notice, between these two pictures, almost everyone else seems frozen still, except for those two ladies and the sales people. They're getting it done.

I love this magical lens of mine. It just seeks people out on its own accord. ;-).

For 700 years, as you know, Spain was occupied by Muslims and some of the culture obviously rubbed off, as can be seen in these two samples of architechture
